Walter Njboke


 

Walter Njboke’s life mission is to become a philanthropist. Mr. Njboke was born and raised in Amaigbo, Nigeria. Njboke is currently a businessman and entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Njboke is passionate about social change through business. Through his experiences, he has been able to make a significant impact in the lives of many.
In 1989, at the young age of 17, Njboke moved to the United States to pursue a college education on a basketball scholarship from Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon.

Due to the challenges faced by immigrants in a new country - including homesickness and emotional - stress - Njboke moved to Northern California, where much of his Nigerian social circle resided. After relocating there, Njboke would simultaneously work and attend the California State University, East Bay, where he graduated with a degree in Marketing and Communications in 1994.

Upon graduating, Njboke identified the commercial sales sector as exhibiting the highest potential for professional growth. Shortly after, Njboke began working with Ricoh USA, an imaging and electronics company. To this day, Njboke has worked over 20 years at Ricoh USA, where he now serves as a Major Accounts Executive. During this tenure, Njboke has received Ricoh’s “President’s Club” recognition on nine occasions, an award granted to the top 1% of performers at the company.

Walter Njboke’s business interests include the W Njboke Trading Group, an international consulting and sourcing company for businesses around the world. Njboke also currently owns and operates Winston & Lee, a boutique menswear company specializing in custom men’s Italian suits. Njboke founded Winston & Lee as part of his vision for fine menswear, as well as to develop and utilize the connections he formed with Italian clothing manufacturers. Previously, he owned and operated Mondano Wine and Spirit, a successful beverage company specializing in the distribution of Californian wines for special events in Nigeria.

Walter also regularly participates in service and philanthropy. Notably, Njboke currently sits on four separate Boards of Directors for community organizations. These include the Youth Policy Institute, Vista del Mar Family Services, Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services, and the Valley Economic Alliance. Njboke is also a part of a Nigerian cultural organization named “Amaigbo Town Union Los Angeles Branch''. This organization consists of Nigerian business leaders in Los Angeles developing ideas and projects for the benefit of communities in Amaigbo, Nigeria. Njboke is also a committee member of the Black History and Lifestyle Awards, whose mission is to commemorate and provide recognition to past and present individuals made by Black individuals.

Walter Njboke approaches his work life with a philanthropic, service-oriented mentality. Having immigrated to the United States without his family, Njboke still vividly remembers the help received from those he met upon his arrival. Njboke is a firm believer that it is his obligation to help his fellow man, and lives by the principles of reciprocity. “Once you carry your own water, you’ll remember every drop.” - African proverb
